About Newfoundlands

Newfoundlands are our large breed of choice because they have a sweet temperament, are trusting, trainable, and great with kids. They have a double coat, and the outer layer is flat and coarse, with gray, brown, black, or black-and-white coloring. Their coat requires a weekly thorough brushing to prevent mats from forming. A full-grown male can weigh up to 150 pounds, while females typically weigh 100 to 120 pounds.
